Size Guide & Instructions

At HikingGlobe, we want you to find the right fit for your gear the first time. This Size Guide will help you choose the correct size for jackets, sleeping bags, and backpacks. Please measure carefully before ordering, and if you are between sizes, we generally recommend choosing the larger size for comfort.

Sleeping Bags

How to Choose the Right Size:

  • Regular: Suitable for users up to 6 ft (183 cm) tall.

  • Long: Suitable for users up to 6 ft 6 in (198 cm) tall.

  • Width: Choose wider models if you prefer extra room inside the bag.

Size Recommended Height Shoulder Girth Hip Girth
Regular Up to 6 ft / 183 cm 60 in / 152 cm 56 in / 142 cm
Long Up to 6 ft 6 in / 198 cm 64 in / 163 cm 60 in / 152 cm

Tip: Always check the temperature rating of your sleeping bag. A snug fit is warmer, while a looser fit offers more comfort and movement.

Backpacks

How to Measure Your Torso Length:

  1. Tilt your head forward and locate the bony bump where your shoulders meet your neck (C7 vertebra).

  2. Place your hands on your hips and find the top of your hip bones (iliac crest).

  3. Measure the distance between these two points — this is your torso length.

Pack Size Torso Length Capacity Best For
Small 16–18 in / 41–46 cm 30–35 L Day hikes, short trips
Medium 18–20 in / 46–51 cm 35–45 L Overnight trips
Large 20–22 in / 51–56 cm 45–60 L Multi-day hikes

Tip: Always adjust the shoulder straps, hip belt, and sternum strap so the weight is evenly distributed.
